Web Directions East 2008
On Friday November 7th, Majides attended the Web Directions East ‘08 conference hosted by John Allsop. While other parts of the globe already had their version of the Web Directions series (“South” in Australia and “North” in Canada), this was the first one held in Asia, and was also an eagerly anticipated event as only few international speakers make it to Japan.

Notes from Lift Asia 2008
From September 4th to the 6th I attended the Lift Asia 2008 conference on Jeju (Cheju) island, South Korea. Some of the key goals for Lift include inspiring attendees to initiate and/or participate in positive technological change, harnessing market disruptions (ala Skype) and turning them into opportunities, and creating a platform for typically disparate fields to connect. If there was any rule during the conference, it was “No Commercial Pitches.”

In The Beginning
On December 10th, 2007, 株式会社マジです [1] (kabushiki kaisha majides - aka, Majides, Inc.) was officially established. The month leading up to this date was spent signing paperwork, depositing the initial capital, and ordering a company seal, as required in Japan. But a name and legal entity weren’t going to do us much good without a memorable “visual stamp” - a brand logo.
