Otorevo
Otorevo - short for oto revolution or “sound revolution” in Japanese - is a platform for artists to share their music and videos online. The service was launched as a campaign in the style of American Idol but for Japanese Internet users. Anyone could upload a video or music track, and anyone could vote for their favorite artist. The winning entry was awarded a recording contract with Columbia Music Entertainment (CME) - the first campaign of its kind with a major music label in Japan. The winner - Good Crew - released their first album with CME in February. Another music group - Iyse - also signed with CME after landing as a top 10 artist.
Majides designed and built the Otorevo service for Columbia Music Entertainment with a combination of proprietary and open source components. We were also instrumental in designing non web-based content, including marketing, album, and DVD materials.
